• Completed in 2001 as the first phase of a major ongoing project, we carried out thorough refurbishment of several rural waste treatment works for Testway Housing Limited (formerly Test Valley Borough), upgrading them to an adoptable standard for the Southern Water Authority to take over.
  
  For phase two we have negotiated a partnership agreement on an open book basis, an approach which is beneficial to both client and contractor. Under it we can deliver exceptional value for money, while enjoying continuity of work and the opportunity to input to cost-effective design.
  
  Our fortnightly meetings have proved to be valuable for team building, and the approach has allowed us to take forward awkward sites that have not been viable previously.
  
  GMC has helped to smooth the path of progress by speaking to householders and those whose permission is needed for site access. The first phase was £4OO,OOO in value; the ongoing second phase is budgeted at £l.4 million.
